TPU feeds fine by hand but jams halfway through prints

95A TPU loads cleanly and extrudes on command, then after 20-30 minutes it bunches near the extruder gears. Retraction is already low. Could too much idler pressure alone cause this?

Yes. Too much idler pressure can flatten soft filament and make it buckle more easily. I would reduce tension a little and slow the print before changing temperatures.
